Asbestos Roof Removal and Roof Rebuild in March, Cambridgeshire
An asbestos roof safely removed and replaced, and an adjoining pitched roof completely rebuilt, in March in August 2026. Every photo below was taken on site by our team.
The job
This job in March had two parts. The first was an existing asbestos roof, which our team safely removed and replaced with new fibre-cement corrugated sheets.
The second was the pitched roof next to it, which needed far more than new tiles. We rebuilt the structure completely, with new wall plates, new purlins and new rafters, before any covering went on. Then came a new breathable membrane, treated battens and a finish in Crest Double Pantiles in Rustic Red.
Rebuilding the timbers is not something every roofer takes on. Because our team builds roof structures as well as covering them, the whole job was handled by one firm from start to finish.

Frequently asked questions
Do you cover March and Wisbech?
Yes. March, Wisbech and the surrounding villages are all inside the area we cover. We carry out free surveys and fixed written quotes, call 01733 964623.
Can you remove an asbestos roof?
Yes. On this job our team removed the existing asbestos roof safely and replaced it with new fibre-cement corrugated sheets. We will explain how removal is handled on your property when we survey it.
Do you rebuild roof timbers as well as re-tile?
Yes. Where wall plates, purlins or rafters have failed we replace them, as we did here, so the new covering goes onto a sound structure.
How long does a full re-roof take?
Less time than you might expect. Arkenstone has teams of more than 20 roofers, so a project that would take most firms one to two weeks on site is finished far sooner, to the same exacting standard and at a competitive price. You will get a clear timescale with your written quote and an update every day we are on the job.
